The Scripture Internship Program is a year-long, part-time (one day per week) paid ministry apprenticeship where an Intern has the opportunity to experience the ministry of Special Religious Education (SRE) in a variety of local school settings. Under the guidance of an experienced Supervising SRE Teacher, the Intern will engage in an immersive schools-based experience accompanied by mentoring, training, private study and pastoral care to develop and hone ministry skills. They will take part in delivering local SRE programs where young people explore the Christian faith in public school settings in the Georges River area.
The SRE Intern will commence in time for Term 1, 2024. More information about the Scripture Internship role can be found here.
The successful applicant will have (or be willing to obtain at the outset) a current Working With Children Check number, have completed a church-based Child Protection Training course in the last 3 years, adhere to the Nicene Creed and Statement of Faith (found on the Application Form) and be willing to commence study towards a Diploma of Theology, Ministry or equivalent. To teach SRE, you must be authorised by a Department of Education approved SRE provider.
