The BLAST Board is looking for an SRE Teacher to work 2 days per week at 3 Schools; Chester Hill High School, Bankstown Senior College and either Bass High School or Condell Park High School on Mondays and Fridays commencing February 1 2023.

The successful applicant will have a current Working With Children Check number, have completed a church based Child Protection Training course in the last 3 years, adhere to the Nicene Creed and Statement of Faith (found on the Application Form) and hold or be willing to study towards a Diploma in Theology.

To teach SRE you must be authorised to teach SRE by a Department of Education approved SRE provider.

Job Description:

Teach Special Religious Education to Years 7-12 students using the Think Faith curriculum.

Assist Christian teachers and students to run a lunchtime Christian program

Foster relationships with local churches and youth group leaders, including church deputation (at least one per term)

Undertake in-service training, mentoring and reviews as per Generate Ministries contract.

Desirable but not essential Criteria

Teacher trained with classroom management experience and at least one years teaching experience or interest in gaining such teacher qualifications.

Willingness to make a 3-year commitment to the position at least

Lives and attends church locally
