Wagga Interchurch Christian Education Team is looking to employ an SRE Coordinator/ Teacher 2 days per week (negotiable) commencing late 2022 or early 2023. The days of work are flexible. Some regular and/or casual teaching of SRE across Wagga will be required. SRE teaching experience is essential.

The role involves liasing with primary school Principals or delegates, regarding class timetabling, the coordination of approximate 30 volunteer teachers, and recruiting and training of future volunteer teachers. 

Developing partnerships with local churches is essential, including church deputations, and quarterly reporting to the SRE Board and ministry supporters.

Participation in Generate SRE Teacher networking and professional development opportunities is also a requirement.

Qualification and Experience

SRE teaching experience is essential. The successful applicant will have a current Working With Children Check number, have completed a church based Child Protection Training course in the last 3 years, adhere to the Nicene Creed and statement of faith found on the 'SRE Positions Vacant' section of the this website, be actively involved in their local church and hold or be willing to study towards, a Cert IV in Theology or Ministry. To teach SRE, you must be authorised to teach SRE by a Department of Education approved SRE provider .
